Temple yard

The Greatest gift

They’d done as planned.  Bound the boss, handed him to the temple guards.  They hadn’t reckoned on hanging around too long.  Going to the temple to collect the reward  ….?  They were thieves, after all, done a bit of killing in their time.  Still, to get their hands on the bag of coins, they followed behind the boss.  Getting roughed up.  But that was his dumb idea.

A free pardon.  And if the boss’s scheme went tits-up  ….  he only had himself to blame  ….
