Clash of wills

Maciste had lost his inheritance  ..  robbed of his rightful legacy.  Since, he’d fought in wars.  Espoused others’ brave causes.  Won victories, lost some fights.  Praised and lauded.  Other times on the run.  Fortune had smiled on him, sometimes not.
And now it seemed, she had turned her back on him  …..
