Perfect gift

A Power that eludes

His heart missed a beat.  That offering  ..  the man he’d had in his tight grips for days  ..  he had turned on the chief and sneered.  Days of using his suffering to draw the attention of Mzanka back to the tribe  ..  and he stood there mocking their efforts.
Laughing in the chief’s face.  Sneering at all the efforts the priest had sweated to call on Mzanka again.
He was failing.  And that did not bode well for himself  ……
