A Power that eludes

His predecessor had been murdered.  When that Runaway had escaped.  And since it had all been his fault.  Mzanka had turned his back on them.  Abandoned them.  Spurned them  ..  ignoring all their entreaties.  Returned their abject pleas for his return  ..  scorned them with his silence.

Disaster had struck.  Depression had taken hold.  Going through the motions  .. as best they could.  Keeping their bodies service-ready.  In the hope Mzanka’s blessings rained on them again.  But a vain hope.
What did a tribe do?  Dedicated to one thing only ?  To serve their lord  ……  Who rejected them.
